NOW OPEN: CAHS internal research funding review
The CAHS internal research funding review process has been designed to ensure CAHS can confidently endorse research activity that aligns with our vision for Healthy kids, healthy communities.
The process is open to staff and external collaborators and is the first step towards a formal CAHS approval to apply for external research funding. We are reviewing applications in three streams:
- Generic research projects
- Partnership funding
- Research fellowships
This process will run regularly during the year. Submission dates for 2021 (all streams):
- Tuesday 16 February (note this date was originally 2 February but has been revised)
- Tuesday 4 May
- Tuesday 3 August
- Tuesday 26 October

MRFF Rapid Applied Research Translation (RART) funding opportunity
Closes: 5pm (AEDT) May 6, 2021
The RART initiative will invest in research projects that encourage academic researchers and health service providers to collaborate to improve health care delivery, services and systems sustainability. Further information about the application process for grants (ranging from $250,000 - $10 million) is available here.
Please note changes to the admission process for this fund which was previously run by WAHTN.
Applications for MRFF Rapid RART funding must be submitted by one of the following relevant eligible entities;
• a medical research institute
• a university
• a corporate Commonwealth entity
• a corporation (including businesses and not for profits).
Please note each of these eligible entities will conduct their own internal selection process because they can only submit one application for consideration. Further information is available from:

Researchers intending to apply for these grants are encouraged to contact the CAHSResearchGrantsOfficer@health.wa.gov.au prior to 16 February 2021 for information regarding the CAHS letter of endorsement which must be included with any applications.
