Community Health Clinical Governance Committee
Community Health is made up of Child Health Nursing, School Health Nursing, Child Development Service, Immunisations, Refugee Health and Aboriginal Health services, available at 160 sites across Perth.
The Clinical Governance Committee is made up of 18 Community Health staff and two consumers and is responsible for the safety and quality of consumer care at Community Health.
The committee meets this responsibility through the following:
- reviewing reports and recommendations on service activities by managers
- providing advice to managers and corporate services on matters affecting the quality of consumer care and organisational functioning
- meeting the objectives of the CAHS Clinical Governance Framework
- contributing to the development of strategic and/or operational plans advising on consumer involvement in improving services monitoring performance in relation to clinical guidelines,
- pathways and protocols, clinical indicators and clinical audits
- clinical risk minimisation strategies in relation to clinical incident and adverse event monitoring, and risk profile analysis
- professional development of staff
- the clinical governance processes and systems
- any other matters affecting consumer care or referred to the Committee for advice.
